Recognized for her “beautiful, warm voice with a secure and soft top and a powerful low register” (Basler Landschaftszeitung, Switzerland), some of Carla López-Speziale’s most notable roles are Carmen, Dalila, Azucena, Isabella, and Baba the Turk. Carla is winner of competitions such as the Vincenzo Bellini in Italy, the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions in New York and the Carlo Morelli competition in her native Mexico, among others. As a Fulbright fellow, she received Master and Doctor in Musical Arts Degrees from the Manhattan School of Music. www.carlalopezspeziale.com

Kevin A. Smith is honored to be making music with Carla López-Speziale for this concert.  He currently is a resident Music Director in New York City whose work has included productions both in NYC and regionally. In addition to music direction, Smith performs as a pianist and organist at Good Shepherd Church – NYC & teaches the Theater Club at Good Shepherd School.
