Cocina Hispana: Rice Dishes from the Hispanic Society ‘s Collection of Cookbooks

Philippe de Montebello will be joined Professor Mark Aldrich, Associate Professor of Spanish and Executive Director of the Clarke Forum for Contemporary Issues at Dickinson College. Professor Aldrich is an avid paella enthusiast, and he will demonstrate how to cook a variation of the popular Valencian dish in a video tutorial, which will be followed by a live YouTube conversation about the process, the history of the dish, and the many variations it takes around the Hispanic world.
Professor Aldrich is particularly interested in 20th century Spanish poetry, although his publications include both Peninsular and Spanish American subjects. He has also published literary translations. His current scholarship is focused on poetry translation and the work of Rafael Pérez Estrada.
