Community Health Academy of the Heights young artists are currently featured in a professional Art Gallery, at Focal Point Art gallery in the Bronx. The students are in grades 6-12th. Art Teacher Tiffany MacKnight has been working in the Washington Heights community and participating in the Young Artists Show since 2008. The current seniors showcased when they were sixth graders and now are showcasing again their senior year. This show took a break during covid, but now this is the first year back, we are excited to celebrate the young artists’ accomplishments.
This event is a true sense of community bringing together students, teachers, parents and families to celebrate the arts and the talent and creativity of the young artists in the Washington Heights Community. The work will be up for the month connecting the Bronx to Washington Heights. All are welcome to view the show.
We believe art is an important component of the educational process. Students who engage in the arts are more well rounded, good critical thinkers and are more prepared for life beyond high school.
