Sion Papi is an animated documentary that follows the story of Anne Fernandez who, after the death of her father, embarks on a two-month journey to return his ashes to his homeland— a place she hasn’t set foot in for sixteen years.

From June 10 to 14, 2025, the Latino Film Market (LFM) returns for its 9th annual edition, reaffirming its mission to provide a vibrant platform for local and international Latinx filmmakers.
The event will be dedicated to Mike Deegan, a friend, a painter, and a Lantern Community Services’ resident. It will include the screening of Conversations, a short film by Yael Ben-Zion, featuring Michael Deegan and Maaji Newbold, followed by a panel discussion with Veronica Liu of Word Up, and Marcus Moore, Maaji Newbold, and Yael Ben-Zion, who collaborated with Mike on the project Being There.
Monthly film screenings continue at Inwood Library! June is Pride Month, and we’ll be celebrating with the nineties film BUT I’M A CHEERLEADER, starring Natasha Lyonne, Clea DuVall and Cathy Moriarty.
