The Washington Heights Chamber Orchestra is pleased to present a 3-concert series in partnership with Word Up Community Bookshop, featuring books from the “Uptown Kid Lit” list with thoughtful connections to themes that will be familiar to every child growing up in Washington Heights.
Ensemble Connect is a program of Carnegie Hall, The Juilliard School, and the Weill Music Institute in partnership with the New York City Department of Education.
Dr. Elizabeth Weinfield brings Sonnambula, a historically-informed ensemble that brings to light unknown music for various combinations of early instruments with the lush sound of the viol at the core, to the Hispanic Society to perform a program inspired by the exhibition A Room of her Own: The Estrado and the Hispanic World.
Powerhouse trumpeter James Zollar, a performer with the Duke Ellington and Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestras, as well as the Count Basie Band, takes center stage with his electrifying group, Zollar Systems.
A wonderful celebration of Afro-Dominican culture!
