Inwood Art Works presents HOWL! — Allen Ginsberg at 100. Composer/Reader Jerome Kitzke will honor the American poet Allen Ginsberg in his Centennial Year by eading his seminal poems Howl and Footnote to Howl as well as reading other Ginsberg poems Kitzke set to music over the last 38 years, including Hum Bom!, Sunflower Sutra, and Song. Each of those readings will be followed by audio recordings of the compositions Kitzke made.
Join our expert Education Volunteers on a guided tour of Dyckman Farmhouse, Manhattan’s last farmhouse and learn the stories that have shaped Inwood history! Participants will learn about those who have shaped the stories of Inwood, including the Lenape, Revolutionary War soldiers, the Dyckman Family, free and enslaved African people, and present-day residents of Northern Manhattan.

Join us at Morris Jumel Mansion and immerse yourself in the spirit of this beautiful tradition with activities like making sugar skull masks, crafting paper marigolds, and creating colorful papel picado.
Meet SHEBA THE ALLEY CAT—a plucky feline heroine with a nose for adventure at the launch party of her story! Lauren Fornoles will read this spooky—but not scary—Halloween story, perfect for kids ages 3 and up. Lauren will also read from her other new Halloween-themed book, Monster's Day at School! Following the story time, kids will get to color and create costume masks and learn about black cats with The Cat Collective NYC.
