Inwood Hill Park: Uptown Kid Lit. A one-day children's literature festival that showcases the fun and possibilities of literature for kids and their adults! Since 2019, Meet your favorite and soon-to-be-favorite authors and illustrators, get introduced to local youth programs, pick up books and school supplies, and hang out with your neighbors in the park.
Hispanic Heritage Month: Latin Music Roots in Nature
Join the Urban Park Rangers in Inwood Hill Park to discuss the natural roots of instruments used in Spanish and Latin American Music. Learn about some of the ways nature is used to craft instruments such as strings, woodwinds and percussion. Instruments featured will be flamenco guitar from Spain, congas, claves and more.
Join the Urban Park Rangers in on a mushroom exploration! We will lead a guided mushroom walk through Inwood Hill Park and help locate mushroom species and discuss their unique qualities! Come learn about our funky fungi kingdom and the mycelial connections that are integral to our ecosystems.
