During this time it has evolved into a vibrant gathering of singers and Washington Heights residents creating a space for jazz singers and lovers of jazz vocal music. \nLe Cheile is a listening room that seats 40 people. Food and drinks served. Doors open at 7 pm. Just a hop\, skip\, and jump from the A train. One set only at 7:30. Vocal Jazz Jam to follow. Singers must attend the featured set to be invited to sing at the Jazz Jam. \nPlease note: if the first Monday falls on a holiday\, schedules may change. \n

In this workshop\, Jane will work with 3 or 4 vocalists and guide them through her method of storytelling through song. \nThe workshop will focus on:\n• Phrasing\n• Breath support\n• Authenticity\n• Letting the lyrics be your guide\n• How to use what you have\n• Techniques to offer choices\n• Singing around the melody\n• Stage craft / working with your accompanist \nMark Kross will be on hand as the accompanist so Jane can work directly with the singers.
