SUMMARY:MOSA Concerts: Zosha Warpeha at OSA's Open House
DESCRIPTION:MOSA’s final spring concert  at Our Saviour’s Atonement Church. Zosha Warpeha is a composer-performer specializing in improvisatory\, atmospheric soundscapes based on Nordic folk music—her instrument\, the ten-stringed Hardanger d’amore\, is closely related to the Norwegian Hardanger fiddle. Notable performances have taken place at the Emanuel Vigeland Museum\, Newport Jazz Festival\, Vesterheim Museum\, and The Stone. \nZosha will be joined by bassist Tristan Kasten Krause for a set of new folk-inspired improvisations at the close of OSA Church’s open house—come for the community activities and tag sale\, and stay for the music!

DESCRIPTION:MOSA Concerts is thrilled to welcome Dust Roots for our second concert of the spring season \nSpecializing in jazz and free improvisation\, the Harlem-based ensemble Dust Roots is led by Colin Babcock\, a trombonist\, composer\, improvisor\, and teacher originally from Pickerington\, Ohio. He is one of the founders of the New York City Brass Choir and the Brownstone Brass Quintet. He is also a member of William Parker’s “Little Huey’s Pocket Watch”\, the Fort Greene Orchestra\, and can be found freelancing in various groups of all genres across the NYC area. He released his albums “Circle” in 2020 and “Concrete” in 2024.
