Participants will explore rhythm, grounding, and expressive movement while learning about the cultural context of the dance and the role of the drum as a unifying force. The Lab offers a joyful, embodied experience that fosters connection between body, rhythm, culture, and community.

From throwing shade to sheltering in shade, from colorism in race to color range in art, shade speaks to power, presence, and the unseen forces that shape how we move through the world.
