This summer, NYC Parks and The Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment will host family-friendly movie showings across the five boroughs. Imaginative and enthralling romantic drama about a rustic Sicilian widower (Vincenzo Amato) who gets involved with a mysterious, aristocratic Englishwoman (Charlotte Gainsbourg) on an immigrant ship en route to America in 1904. The film title refers to the metaphoric passage made by passengers through Ellis Island and into the New World. Written and directed by Emanuele Crialese. Also known as "Nuovomondo." Rated PG-13

    Rising in the Heights is a festival of free outdoor public arts performances curated by Leadlights Ensemble in partnership with Word Up Community Bookshop. The festival celebrates the rich artistic contributions of Latinx and Black cultures and promotes children’s literacy through music and bilingual storytelling.
