    Join the Reverend Dr. Ayla Lepine, the Reverend Meredith Ward, and London’s St. James’s Singers for a contemplative pilgrimage through The Met Cloisters, accompanied by choral music inspired by Hildegard of Bingen and other women composers from across the centuries. Through music, reflection, and movement, this unique experience explores themes of Heaven and Earth, faith, nature, and creation, connecting Hildegard’s extraordinary vision with the voices of women composers from throughout history.

    Hispanic Society & Inwood Film Works: Cine al Fresco Film: Sangre y Arena (Classic Film; USA, 1941). Brash young Spanish peasant Juan Gallardo (Tyrone Power) aspires to follow his dead father's footsteps into the bullring, despite his mother's fears. Bidding his childhood sweetheart Carmen (Linda Darnell) farewell, Juan and his friends travel to Madrid to learn the bullfighting craft. Years later, when Juan's fame as a matador soars, he returns to Seville to marry Carmen. Soon, Juan's head is turned by the elegant temptress Doña Sol De Muira (Rita Hayworth), and his career takes a turn. Pre-Show: Xianix Barrera Flamenco. Program begins at 6pm with a special pre-show live performance followed by the film at 7pm.
