Back to School: FREESTORE in Washington Heights!

IT’S FREESTORE O’CLOCK IN WASHINGTON HEIGHTS!!!

The next Uptown Wagon FreeStore will be September 20th at the Fort Washington Armory (Ft. Washington Ave. @ W. 168th St.), 3pm-6pm. We will be accepting items all day Thursday, September 19th, 10am-6:30pm. See attached flyers.

As in the past we will be offering *gently used* clothing & shoes for adults & children; clothing & other items for babies; toys; housewares; home goods; office supplies & back-to-school items; non-perishable pantry items; and toiletries (new only!) menstrual supplies, and diapers. All donated items must be clean, free of stains/holes/damage, and in good condition. No used socks/underwear; no used sheets/towels. Food & toileties must be unopened and unexpired.

We will have a full day (Thursday) for collections and sorting/staging and a second day for staging and the event itself. Except under limited circumstances and by appointment only we are unable to accommodate drop offs on Friday. If you are unable to drop off at The Armory, we will have some satellite collection drives at the Hebrew Tabernacle & the Cabrini Shrine; details TBD. (Watch this space for details.)

We always need volunteers. If you are available at any point on Thursday 9/19 or Friday 9/20 please visit us on Instragram and click through to the volunteer sign-up. We especially need help Friday evening beginning at 6pm from folks w/cars who can help transfer leftover items to our partner organizations.
