Malika Lee Whitney and Pickney Productions presents Talk to the Hand

Malika Lee Whitney and Pickney Productions shares an interactive storytelling program featuring American Sign Language. The dramatic reading of a popular children’s book comes alive with unique ways of expression. Participants will be engaged through exposure of an important means of communication. ASL letters, words, phrases and numbers are sure to delight interest. Musical accompaniment and a demonstration by Double Dutch Dreamz with recognition of the Juneteenth commemoration.

Through the convergence of performance art and storytelling, our goal is to empower and uplift communities through the power of play. We’ll teach you all about juggling, poi, hula hooping, and other flow arts for free! Or simply stop by to chat, hang out, laugh, and blow bubbles with us. =) The Circ of Humankind values community, inclusion, and has a mission toward Unity.

Highbridge Park: Urban Wildlife Festival

We welcome guests of all ages to join us at the 13th Annual Wildlife Appreciation Festival hosted by the Urban Park Rangers and the Fort Tryon Park Trust. Get to know your wild neighbors, including squirrels, turtles, raccoons, opossum, and coyotes while participating in activities to build your awareness and understanding of the natural world!

The festival is an opportunity to get up close and personal with NYC’s wild residents! Find out the best places in New York City and New York State to watch wildlife.

There will be fun activities including live animals presented by Wildlife In Need of Rescue and Rehabilitation (WINORR), games, and music by Hopalong Andrew!

This event is RAIN OR SHINE! Please check the weather and bring rain gear if necessary. The animals don’t mind a little rain!
