I am a painter and designer living and working in critical dialogue with a cultural environment of instant access and over-stimulation. My paintings allow the viewer to move beyond the casual glance and allow us both to get intimate with the subjects. Painting is a tool to inspire, communicate, investigate, and critique. With my work, I am constantly growing, deepening, shifting, and growing my technique to better understand the cultures and environments around me.

When I place paint on the canvas and it illuminates, that moment is why I paint. The play of light, bold colors and paint strokes excites my process of creating mini abstract paintings within the larger realistic painting. Painting loosely allows me freedoms without completely sacrificing form to build realistic subjects. I have a fondness for mysterious atmospheric night scenes and extraordinary people who can say everything in one look.
