Pianist Nicki Adams and saxophonist Michael Eaton play music from celebrated and genre-defining jazz composers, interweaving elements and ideas from Western classical music. They integrate divergent musical languages in a conversational style, integrating virtuosity, timbre and swing. Using modal and bebop standards as a template, the arrangements draw on Debussy’s piano preludes, Bartók’s piano etudes, Iranian Khush Rank rhythmic cycles, and an array of other musical influences.

The 7th Annual Washington Heights Jazz Festival 2024 is a four-day event highlighting the best jazz that NYC and Upper Manhattan have to offer! Sixteen bands – over 60 musicians – will perform in various venues around the neighborhood, reflecting the musical and cultural diversity that is Washington Heights.
