Dyckman Farmhouse: Inwood Haven Premiere Concert. This special evening will feature the premiere performance of Evelyn Petcher Brandes' original composition, inspired by the voices, and experiences of the Inwood community. From our workshops to interviews and conversations, each person who participated helped shape this creative work. This performance will be presented by the Leadlights Ensemble and hosted by the Dyckman Farmhouse Museum. Kick off your Friday night at this opening gallery reception celebrating Alfredo Jimagua's Seeds of Revolution, celebrating all of New York in Washington Heights. This photo series titled Seeds of Revolution started the day after Zohran Mamdani won the election for mayor last November. That’s when Alfredo Jimagua posted flyers in working-class corners of the city, casting locals for a photoshoot in their homes, asking: Who are the real people living here, and how do they make NYC home? The result is a mosaic of 27 New Yorkers across Upper Manhattan, The Bronx, Queens, and Brooklyn.
Costanzi was Principal Harp of CBC Radio Orchestra and Vancouver Symphony and has performed throughout Europe and the Americas. In the intimate setting of The Lounge at Hudson View Gardens, she’ll perform a program that includes works by Bach, Faure, Granados, Liszt and Debussy.
Inwood Art Works Studio presents an evening with Maggie Clarke, guitarist, singer, and storyteller, Maggie Clarke sings the great songs of the 1960s and 1970s, covering a broad and versatile range of music from British Invasion Artists to pop singers and folk artists of that period. You will be drawn in by her voice and guitar, and her witty stories and fun anecdotes.
