Buunni Inwood and Zena Group announces the third serving of original short plays!

CAFÉ PLAYS: PRIDE is an evening of short plays by Niveka Hobaichan, Bug Johnson, Anita Moreno, Allison Ramnarine and Luke Vichnis.

In Bound by Love, a nurse and a bouncer who share history at a Queer bar in NYC finally connect one night over unexpected circumstances. In The Golden Ass, a timeless tale of love and betrayal, the mortal Psyche (transfemme) must navigate divine trials and treachery to reunite with her true love, Eros (transmasc), god of desire. In Birds of a Feather, two broken hearted souls collide on Brooklyn bridge. In Diagonal Pliers, a home invasion turns into a moment of clarity and reconnection. In Test Strip, a tense moment takes place at a gay bar when two old friends reconnect. In Falling, a pair of old flames try to reconnect during a hike and realize each of them are more important than the tension between them.

Niveka Hobaichan (she/they) is a transgender actor and playwright who was born and raised in Queens, New York. She aims to tell stories inspired by her own life and experiences in hopes that the people who see them can connect and heal from learning that they’re not alone.
