Highbridge Park: Storytelling Nature Walk with Rachael Harrington

On this family-friendly nature walk with storyteller Rachael Harrington, participants will listen to folktales, observe the natural beauty of Highbridge Park, and try their hand at drawing the elements from the stories. Best suited for kids ages 4 to 9. Caregiver must accompany their child for the duration of the event.

Access notes: There are some slopes but no stairs on this route. Starting and ending location is Adventure Playground, on Edgecombe Ave at 164th St. For more information, contact ollie.demeio@parks.nyc.gov or 212-795-1388.

The dramatic reading of a popular children’s book comes alive with unique ways of expression. Participants will be engaged through exposure of an important means of communication. ASL letters, words, phrases and numbers are sure to delight interest. Musical accompaniment and a demonstration by Double Dutch Dreamz with recognition of the Juneteenth commemoration.
