Our good friend, the great composer, musician and raconteur David Amram, is pure magic. Known for his film scores (The Manchurian Candidate, Splendor in the Grass) and his collaborations with Jack Kerouac, Dizzy Gillespie, Pete Seeger, Leonard Bernstein, and more, David is a national treasure. He’s also a generous and fun personality, lighting up any venue he visits.
Sasha and I are thrilled to welcome him to the Hudson View Gardens Lounge (Pinehurst Ave. at 183rd Street) where the HVG Performing Arts Group is hosting us for an effervescent evening of collaboration and song. We will be joined by the great bassist Dave Speranza, and special guest, São Paulo based songwriter Manu Lafer. You’ll hear everything from original music to retro French pop, far ranging American folk traditions, film score excerpts and more.
It’s going to be a ball and we hope you’ll join in the fun! Tickets will be sold at the door.
