Latino Outdoors invites you to honor the Day of the Dead together! Join us at Word Up Bookshop to create marigolds, decorations, and picture frames to assemble a community altar in their window display. Throughout the evening, we’ll share the history of the holiday, enjoy traditional baked goods, and host a moment of silence & reflection as we remember our loved ones & ancestors. Feel free to bring items to contribute to the altar (non-perishables) and photos of loved ones (4×6 inches recommended). You can email Latino Outdoors photos at NYC@LatinoOutdoors.org and we’ll make sure to print them out and bring them to the event.

Word Up will be giving away books related to the Day of the Dead!

Word Up Community Bookshop is located at 2113 Amsterdam Ave. (& 165th St.) in Washington Heights, NYC. You can take the 1 train to 168th St and the A/C train to 163rd or 168th  St.
