Angel I. Hawkins, PhD, is an educator, author, and poet with experience teaching English at both the middle-and high-school levels. Passionate about helping young people discover the joy of language, she draws on a lifelong love of reading and writing to inspire others. Her debut novel, THE POINT, and her poetry collection, velvet, explore themes of identity, romance, longing, and transformation. She currently resides in New York City with her two children and husband.
