Sherman Creek Park: The Path to Mycelium

Join the New York Restoration Project’s urban agriculture team for a comprehensive tour of Sherman Creek Park’s beloved Teaching Garden. Learn about how we cultivate shiitake mushrooms at the largest outdoor log yard in New York City. And explore other interesting things growing in the garden, from ginger and turmeric to chayote and more.
New York Restoration Project has been helping steward community gardens since the 1990s. For the last 5 years, they’ve provided technical assistance and educational support in urban agriculture. The Riley-Levin Teaching Garden is a cornerstone of their educational programming.
