On Sunday, June 1st, the PS 187 Film Festival returns to the United Palace stage for their 12th annual celebration of film! Born and bred in our very neighborhood, this festival is unlike anything else in the country: a Pre-K – 8th grade school event that has produced over 600 original shorts films by students and families, with representation in the New York City Public School Film Festival for six of the last seven years. For the past two years, film students from NYC’s leading high school film program at Art & Design High School have worked alongside 187 middle schoolers to craft creative content, which will get its world premiere at this year’s 187 Film Festival. Witness the boundless creativity that flows within NYC’s greatest neighborhood while also embracing a community steeped in artistic talent. It’s a great time enjoyed by all, and you never know if the next Hitchcock, Coppola, or Spielberg lies amongst this talented group of young filmmakers. We’ll see you there!
