The Jewel Box: Little Gems from the Neighborhood brings together nineteen local artists whose work reflects the vibrant, diverse, and tightly-knit community we share. Installed in the welcoming setting of our beloved neighborhood coffee shop, the exhibition features small-scale works across painting, drawing, collage, photography, ceramic, and textile–conveying joy, light, and color through an array of artistic practices.

Francis Hsueh: Artist Reception for “A Compendium of Useful Machines”

You are invited to the Artist Reception for “A Compendium of Useful Machines”, which will take place on Saturday, January 17, 3pm-5pm.

I would love to see you there!

This project gathers paintings of machines I’ve either loved or observed. Their purposes differ, but we made them, we used them, and they make things easier, until they don’t. Technological advancements will relegate all of them to obscurity, some faster than others. We design a tool, until life calls us to innovate further. This show is a fleeting act of remembrance. Come celebrate these machines with me. Light refreshments will be served!
