Broadway is going car-free this August! 🚶🚴☀️
On August 1, 8, and 15, NYC DOT’s Summer Streets returns, transforming Broadway into a vibrant public space from the Brooklyn Bridge all the way to Dyckman Street—right next to Anne Loftus Playground at the northern end of the route!
From 7:00 AM–3:00 PM, enjoy miles of open streets filled with walkers, runners, cyclists, live performances, fitness classes, interactive art, giveaways, and so much more. Whether you’re exploring Fort Tryon Park, heading to a fitness class, or simply enjoying a summer stroll, it’s the perfect way to experience Upper Manhattan without the traffic.
Mark your calendars and start propogating those cuttings, we are hosting our second ever plant swap! After the success of last month’s swap, we wanted to keep momentum going! Join us once again (or for the first time!) on Billings Lawn in Fort Tryon Park
Stop and chat with us about all things plant and community or just drop off and pick up the plants of your choosing! Swap plants, cuttings, supplies, and your best plant tips & tricks. We will be coming with cuttings, potting soil, and plastic pots (while supplies last) so even if you have nothing to swap yourself, feel free to stop by regardless! We’ll also have some starter plant supplies and plant related crafts if you’d like to stay a while and get your hands dirty. As much as this event is about growing our green families, it is also about growing our community!
Celebrate City of Water Day with Hila the Earth, an engaging and interactive performance that inspires children to connect with nature and care for our planet.
Through music, storytelling, and play, Hila brings environmental themes to life in a fun and accessible way. Following the show, families are invited to participate in a hands-on workshop featuring creative activities that encourage environmental awareness, stewardship, and a love of the natural world. Perfect for young children and their caregivers!
