Join professional photographer, Michael Palma Mir, for a series of nature photography workshop-walks featuring the geology, topography and biodiversity of Northern Manhattan Parks. Michael will guide you to capture the parks’ natural beauty, such as rock outcrops, greeting gardens, historic trees, and scenic vistas from behind the lens. He will discuss nature photography strategies for dealing with difficult lighting situations, prime and zoom lens choice for perspective control, depth of field, and composition. Inwood Hill Park – Movies Under the Stars: Save the Last Dance

Grab a blanket and come enjoy a movie in a neighborhood park or playground! This summer, NYC Parks and The Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment will host family-friendly movie showings across the five boroughs.

A white midwestern girl moves to Chicago, where her new boyfriend is a black teen from the South Side with a rough, semi-criminal past.

Movies begin at dusk. This event is FREE and open to the public. Glass bottles and alcoholic beverages are strictly prohibited. In the event of heavy rain or extreme weather, the screening may be canceled. The decision to cancel the event will be made prior to the screening and will be promptly posted on our website.

Usnavi is a bodega owner who longs to go back to his native Dominican Republic. In the meantime, he spends his time in a small neighborhood in Washington Heights pining after Vanessa, a beautiful lady working at the beauty salon and looking after Abuela Claudia, the elderly Cuban lady living next door who raised him, among many others. One day, Usnavi’s childhood friend Nina comes back from college with a secret, and Abuela Claudia wins the lottery.
