Lauded by The New York Times for her “clear, appealing voice and expressive conviction,” soprano Clara Rottsolk joins New York’s finest Baroque ensemble, House of Time, for an evening of cantatas and trios by the incomparable George Friderick Handel and his Italian contemporaries Caldara and Porpora. During his time in Italy, Handel went from a promising young musician to Europe’s greatest composer, while leaving an indelible mark on Italian music.

UPTOWN ARTS STROLL: Neighborhood Sketch Walk at 615 West 186th St

Bring your sketchbook, color pencils, brushes, watercolors, pastels, inks or other drawing tools of choice, and your sharp eyes as we wander in search of beautiful, strange, everyday or odd plants to sketch in the Heights! All ages welcome. We will walk from the steps of 615 West 186th St east to Laurel Terrace, down to 181st St, and back up Audubon Avenue, looking for plants, trees, flowers, vines, and more–from cultivated gardens to beautiful “weeds”–and capture them on paper. Walk ends back at 186th St, where we will compare our sketches. All participants will receive a free deck of 12 beautiful plant cards featuring my artwork, to identify and keep.
