Hike the Heights

Hike the Heights 21 will take place on June 7, 2025, which is National Trails day.  Each year, the day is composed of hiking on the Giraffe Path followed by a community celebration in Highbridge Park.  We are calling on everyone to promote the use of the Giraffe Path by organizing or joining a hike, joining us at the potluck in the park, and sharing it with us on social media! Together, let’s revitalize our public spaces, strengthen community, spread joy, and hike toward a more equitable future!
Mark your calendars for Saturday, June 7th, 11am – 3pm at the Pit in Highbridge Park.

J. Hood: Public Theater Mobile Unit: Much Ado About Nothing

The Public Theater’s Mobile Unit celebrates its 15th year with the beloved romantic comedy MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING. Director Rebecca Martínez and composer Julián Mesri (Mobile Unit’s The Comedy of Errors) reunite for their third consecutive year for this new take on the classic tale of love, deception, and misunderstandings, blending Latine influences, original music, and Shakespeare’s timeless wit. Presented mostly in English, with some Spanish language incorporated, this 90-minute, family-friendly production is designed to be accessible to a wide range of audiences. Mobile Unit visits parks, correctional facilities, and more locations in each NYC borough free of charge as part of The Public Theater’s commitment to making great theater accessible to all.

Join us for a three night tour at J Hood Wright Park.
