Experience The Public Theater’s Free Shakespeare in the Park production of MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING. Recorded live from The Delacorte Theater in Central Park by THIRTEEN’S Great Performances on PBS. Tony Award winner Kenny Leon directs a bold new take on Shakespeare’s cherished comedy of romantic retribution and miscommunication.

Movies begin at dusk. Estimated start time is approximately 8:30 p.m.

This event is FREE and open to the public. Glass bottles and alcoholic beverages are strictly prohibited. In the event of heavy rain or extreme weather, the screening may be canceled. The decision to cancel the event will be made prior to the screening and will be prominently posted on our website.

Films on the Green Fest Outdoor Screening: ‘The Triplets of Belleville’

The Triplets of Belleville (Les Triplettes de Belleville), directed by Sylvain Chomet, 2003, Animation-Adventure, PG-13, 1h20, France-Canada-Belgium. Champion, a melancholy boy adopted by his grandmother, Madame Souza, discovers his passion for cycling. Under her guidance, he trains relentlessly, becoming a cycling prodigy. When he competes in the Tour de France, he’s kidnapped by two mysterious men. Determined to rescue him, Madame Souza and her faithful dog Bruno embark on a journey to find him, leading them to the bustling city of Belleville.

Film in French, English, and Portuguese with English subtitles.

J. Hood – Public Theater Mobile Unit: THE COMEDY OF ERRORS

The Public Theater’s Mobile Unit musical adaptation of Shakespeare’s THE COMEDY OF ERRORS will be performed in English and Spanish at outdoor sites. The Mobile Unit will also pop up at public plazas and parks across the five boroughs in partnership with NYC Parks as well as other key Public Theater partners. Performances take place throughout the month of June in Parks as part of The Public’s commitment to bringing free theater to all and deepening its engagement with communities around NYC.
