Grab a blanket and come enjoy a movie in a neighborhood park or playground! This summer, NYC Parks and The Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment will host family-friendly movie showings across the five boroughs.
Instructions Not Included is a 2013 Mexican comedy-drama film that was co-written, directed by, and starring Eugenio Derbez. Derbez plays Valentin, a seemingly fearless playboy living in Acapulco who encounters a former fling who leaves him with a child whom she claims is his daughter.
Rated PG- 13
The following movies has been rated PG-13. PG-13 MPAA explanation: sexual content, thematic elements, and language.
Movies begin at dusk. This event is FREE and open to the public. Glass bottles and alcoholic beverages are strictly prohibited. In the event of heavy rain or extreme weather, the screening may be canceled. The decision to cancel the event will be made prior to the screening and will be promptly posted on our website.

Enjoy a 1 hour sunset picnic performance by Trio Fadolín in the beautiful FWCC garden. Bring your own picnic (and blanket and chairs and bug spray, etc.) to enjoy during the concert. The garden is “Leave No Trace” so be sure to clean up what you brought in.

After witnessing disease and poverty in the slums of New York, Italian immigrant Francesca Cabrini embarks on a daring journey to persuade the hostile mayor to provide housing and healthcare for hundreds of orphaned children.

No Name Super Storyteller Party (January 2025)
No Name Comedy/Variety Show producer Eric Vetter brings New York’s best established and emerging authors and storytellers to Word Up Community Bookshop in Washington Heights for their monthly series “No Name At Word Up Super Storyteller Party”.
Super Story Party is curated and co-hosted by author/storyteller Michele Carlo, the author of FISH OUT OF AGUA: My life on neither side of the (subway) tracks (Citadel Press).
The show will also include a “Magic Hat Open-Mic” where audience members can signup for a chance at four minutes of stage time to share their own stories.
