The Many Dimensions of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. is a joyful birthday celebration honoring Dr. King’s legacy of sharing, caring, peace, and community. Families with young children are invited to enjoy interactive jazz performances, hands-on art making, and engaging activities from 1:30–3:00 p.m. featuring the Sofia Tosello Quartet and Crudo Creates.
The celebration continues from 3:00–6:00 p.m. with powerful live performances by The Antoinette Montague Experience, The Maki Nientao Trio, and Zah! Ensemble with Advanced Jazz Power Youth, showcasing inspiring voices, intergenerational talent, and the spirit of joy, justice, and unity through music.

Join the Urban Park Rangers for an afternoon of kid friendly activities and exploring the Inwood Hill Nature Center. Program will be at Nature Center.
How do animals know winter is on its way? Join a New Canaan Nature Center naturalist as we use live animals and artifacts, plus participatory activities and some role-playing, to learn how animals have adaptations to help them survive. Migration, hibernation, brumation, and staying active are only some of the ways animals survive the coldest season.
Recommended for ages 4 and older with caregiver.
Fort Washington Library, Children’s Room
The Washington Heights Chamber Orchestra presents Storytime with the Symphony, a three-concert series in partnership with Word Up Community Bookshop. Each program features stories and music with thoughtful connections to themes familiar to children growing up in Washington Heights, with bilingual narration in English and Spanish. All performances take place at Recirculation, a project of Word Up Community Bookshop.
