We are pleased to announce that Friends of Inwood Hill Park has been awarded a grant from the NYC Green Fund! This award will fund more of our work around the areas affected by the November 2024 wildfires. In addition to the planting and stewardship work already underway, this grant will go to fund a series of bilingual nature hikes happening monthly from June to September. These hikes aim to teach some of our youngest Friends about fire safety in forests, the growing field of fire ecology, and climate change resiliency. We look forward to seeing you in the forest!

Estamos encantados de anunciar que Friends of Inwood Hill Park ha recibido una subvención del NYC Green Fund! Esta subvención financiará más de nuestro trabajo en las áreas afectadas por los incendios forestales de noviembre de 2024. Además del trabajo de plantación y cuidado del bosque ya en marcha, esta subvención se destinará a financiar una serie de caminatas bilingües por la naturaleza que se realizan mensualmente de junio a septiembre. Estas caminatas tienen como objetivo enseñar a algunos de nuestros Amigos más jóvenes sobre la seguridad contra incendios en los bosques, el creciente campo de la ecología del fuego y la resiliencia ante el cambio climático. ¡Esperamos verlos en el bosque!

Grab a blanket and come enjoy a movie in a neighborhood park or playground! This summer, NYC Parks and The Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment will host family-friendly movie showings across the five boroughs.
Allison’s life falls apart following her involvement in a fatal accident. The unlikely relationship she forms with her would-be father-in-law helps her live a life worth living.
Rated R — Restricted. Children Under 17 Require Accompanying Parent or Adult Guardian.
Movies begin at dusk. This event is FREE and open to the public. Glass bottles and alcoholic beverages are strictly prohibited. In the event of heavy rain or extreme weather, the screening may be canceled. The decision to cancel the event will be made prior to the screening and will be promptly posted on our website.

Morris-Jumel – Movies in the Park: “Puss in Boots: The Last Wish”
The Morris-Jumel Mansion invites you to Roger Morris Park to enjoy a free family movie night. Bring a blanket, beach chairs, snacks, and drinks and enjoy this summer night tradition. Movie will start when the sun has gone down (approx. 8 PM). No tickets or registration required.
About the Movie: “Puss in Boots: The Last Wish” (Rated PG)
When Puss in Boots discovers that his passion for adventure has taken its toll and he has burned through eight of his nine lives, he launches an epic journey to restore them by finding the mythical Last Wish.
Our outdoor movie venue is “Leave No Trace” so please be sure to clean up what you brought in.
