LOST INWOOD

-Inwood Sports, Illustrated-

-TUESDAY JUNE 2nd at 7:30PM-

Batter Up! When it comes to the subject of sport, Inwood has seen its share. Of course there are well-known activities like football, baseball, basketball, tennis, skating, bowling and boating. But how about more esoteric pastimes such as automotive hill-climbs, bicycle racing or cricket?

This Tuesday June 2nd 7:30pm at INWOOD FARM, LOST INWOOD will delve into the colorful history of sport in north Manhattan. We’ll hear about the rich baseball history of the old Dyckman Oval stadium. We’ll regale you with tales of the Boat clubs along the Harlem and Hudson where olympians trained. The Inwood Little League, over seventy-five seasons and counting. The story of Baker field. How about Dyckman basketball? Or street racing on Broadway 100 years ago?

But wait, there’s more. Famous sports figures, the rope tow at Van Cortlandt park’s ski slope, and if you’re into sports from the 1700s, we’ll have… fox hunts?!

It’s going to be fun. Tuesday June 2nd 7:30 PM at Indian Farm. Please join us for this free presentation. Reservations are recommended.
