United Palace: Young People’s Chorus

YPC’s Annual Spring Celebration Concert returns to the United Palace, bringing together more than 600 young artists from across New York City for one of the organization’s most beloved traditions. This year’s program honors America’s 250th anniversary with a vibrant range of repertoire spanning classical masterworks, contemporary works, pop, jazz, and gospel.

Under the leadership of YPC Founder and Artistic Director Francisco J. Núñez and Creative Director Elizabeth Núñez, the evening blooms with the artistry, dedication, and spirit of YPC’s award-winning choristers capturing both the richness of the nation’s musical heritage and the joy and energy of spring in a breathtaking
choral performance.

United Palace: The Muse – Ode to Our Mothers

Is your mom best represented by “To My Mother” by Edgar Allan Poe, “The Joy Luck Club” by Amy Tan, or “The Runaway Bunny” by Margaret Wise Brown—or perhaps something more contemporary like “Remember” by Joy Harjo or “Good Bones” by Maggie Smith?

Join us Monday, May 11, for a special post–Mother’s Day Muse dedicated to honoring the mothers and caregivers who shape and nurture our lives. Guests are invited to share out loud a short poem, story, or passage (1–3 minutes) in gratitude or remembrance, in a warm and family-friendly setting. Bring your favorite text or one you penned yourself. Led by Niria Leyva-Gutiérrez, this heartfelt evening will celebrate love, memory, and connection—complete with sweet treats, just like mom used to make.

Doors open at 6:30pm. The Muse begins at 7:00pm.

United Palace: The Muse — Exploring the Iconography of the United Palace

On Tuesday, April 7th, just two days after Easter and marking the 57th anniversary of our rescue and rebirth by Rev. Ike’s church, we invite you to explore the iconography hidden within the walls of the United Palace. After a brief overview of our remarkable history, you’ll encounter the intricate characters and ornamental details woven throughout the space. We’ll reveal our interpretations of their meanings and make connections to the diverse cultures and wisdom traditions that continue to inspire our ministry of the Muse.

The Muse is a monthly program dedicated to celebrating inspiration, the arts, and community. It brings together open-minded artists and art lovers to explore the many ways inspiration, or The Muse, elevates our daily lives. Through shared human experiences, creative expression, and a deep love for the arts, we reflect on life’s biggest questions, uncovering new meaning in the world around us.

Doors open at 6:30pm. The Muse begins at 7:00pm.
