CORNERSTONE CHORALE: Winter Concert

The CORNERSTONE CHORALE will perform its Winter Concert, presenting  choral works of Eric Whitacre, Ben Allaway, Norman Luboff, and the Christmas Oratorio of Camille Saint-Saëns (for chorus, soloists, and ensemble). Soloists are Jane Thorngren, soprano; Jessica Vadney, mezzo; Cristóbal Arias, tenor; and Blake Austin Brooks, bass. The concert will be conducted by Music Director Richard Stout.

Buunni Coffee: Uptown Girls Photo Show Opening Reception

Join us for the opening reception of Uptown Girls: Stories Through Our Lens on January 12th, 2025, 3PM – 5PM at Buunni Coffee Inwood.

​This show features the work of 11 Uptown women photographers, showcasing over 30 images that span a wide range of photography genres: portrait, landscape, abstract, photojournalism, and beyond.

​We welcome our creative community to come meet the photographers featured in the show, celebrate the work, and enjoy a delicious cup of Buunni coffee! Food and drinks will be available for purchase.

Curated by Uptown photographers Monica PattenSam Popp, and Darcy Rogers, the show highlights their work alongside these artists:

Join us on It’s My Park Day to plant bulbs in the Pollinator Garden, to learn about stewardship, and to enjoy poetry, literature, and music with your neighbors! All supplies will be provided. Copies of Faith Ringgold’s picture book Tar Beach will be given away while supplies last.

Tomo is a local artist who has been recognized nationally and internationally.
Her fabric collage series utilizes mosaic-like techniques using paint and fabric. Hundreds of squares reminiscent of digital pixels compose an aggregate like a living organism.
She states: I restore my inner balance by an almost ritual-like creative process, praying to heal and reconnect a world that is broken in so many places.
