Inwood Art Works: Paintings by Pablo Caviedes Opening Celebration

Paintings by Pablo Caviedes – Opening Celebration October 8 at 7pm.

Born in 1971 in Cotacachi, Ecuador, Pablo Caviedes has been exhibiting his work for more than thirty years. In fact, since 1990, his amazing images have graced prominent venues in Paris, France, Poland, Germany, and the United States, just to name a few.

In 1998 in Paris, he was one of ten artists, under 40 years-of-age, selected for the critically acclaimed, art historically significant, comprehensive and pivotal exhibit titled Emergent Artists from Latin America and the Caribbean, identifying a new generation of important up-and-coming Latino artists.

After moving to Manhattan in 2001, he’s been regularly displaying his animistic work throughout New York City, along with participating in critically acclaimed group and solo shows within the greater metropolitan area.

Free and open to the public on view Thursday, October 8 – Sunday, November 1

Hispanic Society: Hispanic Heritage Month Reception

Join us for a special evening honoring the work of Tom Sanford, whose project Uptown Visions is the 2026 selection for Art on Audubon Terrace presented in collaboration with Northern Manhattan Arts Alliance, and Esperanza Cortés, whose exhibition Embroidered Allegories forms the 2026 edition of Arte en el Alto Manhattan.

Inwood Art Works: Jorge A. Valdes Retrospective Opening Reception

Jorge A. Valdes: A Retrospective celebrates the life and work of the late Cuban-American artist, whose vibrant creations transformed mosaic, collage, ceramics and found objects into richly imaginative works of art. Spanning more than two decades, the exhibition reflects Valdes’s distinctive use of color, texture and repurposed materials, as well as the humor, and Caribbean spirit that shaped his artistic vision. The opening reception will also serve as a joyful celebration of his life and creative legacy.

Opening Reception: Friday, September 11 from 6-9pm.
