Fort Tryon Park – MOVIES UNDER THE STARS: COCO

Grab a blanket and come enjoy a movie in a neighborhood park or playground! This summer, NYC Parks and The Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment will host family-friendly movie showings across the five boroughs.

A boy named Miguel dreams of becoming a famous guitar player, despite the misgivings of his close-knit family. When his lofty ambitions cause him to run afoul of a curse, he must journey into the Land of the Dead to seek forgiveness from his ancestors.

This film will be screened in Spanish with English subtitles.

The Dongan Lawn is located on Broadway at the Dongan Pl. entrance. 

Movies begin at dusk. This event is FREE and open to the public. Glass bottles and alcoholic beverages are strictly prohibited. In the event of heavy rain or extreme weather, the screening may be canceled. The decision to cancel the event will be made prior to the screening and will be promptly posted here.

POSTPONED DUE TO WEATHER! Inwood Art Works and the Hispanic Society Present: Coco

FILM WORKS ALFRESCO at the HISPANIC SOCIETY

Join us in celebration of Hispanic Heritiage Month for a free outdoor summer movie night at the Hispanic Society! Inwood Art Works is screening “Coco” on a giant screen at the Courtyard between155th an 156th Street on Broadway, preceded by a live music performance by Frida’s Revenge.

Programming:

6:00pm – Pre-show music performance by Frida’s Revenge.

7:00pm (approximately) – Feature Presentation of “Coco” in Spanish with English subtitles.

Aspiring musician, Miguel, confronted with his family’s ancestral ban on music, enters the Land of the Dead to find his great-great grandfather, a legendary singer.

There are limited chairs available. We encourage you to bring a lawn chair and snacks.

What: Outdoor live music performance by Frida’s Revenge. Movie screening at 7pm of Coco.

When: Thursday, September 28, 2023 from 6:00-9:00pm

Film Works Alfresco focuses foremost on presenting independent and popular films with local relevance that culturally resonate with the Northern Manhattan community. It is New York City’s only free outdoor English and Spanish cinema series.
