Fort Tryon Park: 17th Annual Stan Michels Jazz Festival

17th Annual Stan Michels Jazz Festival at Fort Tryon Park

Mark your calendars for Saturday, July 26 at 1:00 PM and join us for the 17th Annual Stan Michels Jazz Festival, a beloved summer tradition set against the stunning backdrop of Fort Tryon Park’s Stan Michels Promenade. This free, open-air concert honors the enduring legacy of Stan Michels, the longtime New York City Council Member whose commitment to community and culture helped shape the city’s vibrant arts scene.

Prepare to be swept away by a stellar lineup of local jazz talent.

The festival kicks off with the Kobie Dozier Quartet and then the spotlight turns to the festival’s headliner, Marjorie Eliot and Rudel Drears Ensemble. Eliot is a cherished figure in the New York jazz community, famed for her legendary “Parlor Jazz” concerts, which she has hosted every Sunday—rain or shine—for over a decade from her Harlem apartment. Her performances create an intimate cultural experience that she brings to life annually at the Stan Michels Jazz Festival.

Whether you’re a longtime jazz aficionado or simply looking for a memorable way to enjoy summer in the city, the Stan Michels Jazz Festival offers an unforgettable afternoon of music, community, and celebration. Bring your friends, pack a picnic, and soak in the sounds of jazz in one of Manhattan’s most picturesque outdoor venues.

Don’t miss this free event! Join us at Fort Tryon Park on July 26 at 1:00 PM and experience the magic of live jazz under the Stan Michels elm trees.
