YM&YWHA of Washington Heights/ Inwood: Uptown Arts & Culture Pop-Up Series – Rock the Heights!

Celebrate community with live music, art, mini guitar-making, seasonal snacks, and festive fun for all ages!  Guitar Guitar Guitars! Rock on!

Design Your Dream Guitar / Led by Gal Cohen: A hands-on art workshop where you’ll use colorful craft materials to create a mini guitar that’s uniquely yours!

Live Music: Kaki King & Tamar Eisenman

Present: SEI (Italian for “six” and also “you are”) features 16 guitars, transforming the stage and forming a constellation of sound. The heart of SEI is music composed through choreographed movement; each note in SEI born from physical motion, creating… a rich, embodied musical language that blurs the line between composition and dance. The Music in SEI travels between different reflections of our day to day life; “You are” coming to life over and over again, whether it’s through Love, Hate, Parenthood, Creativity, and/or Compassion. With only guitars, tailored tuning and synced movement by the players, SEI is a deep and playful dialogue of guitars, weaved through body language and masterful guitar skills.

Snacks for Hanukka and community candle lighting!

See you there! This event is all ages!

YM&YWHA of Washington Heights & Inwood: Silent Auction and Art Show

Join the  YM&YWHA of Washington Heights & Inwood for a special silent auction and art show celebrating the vibrant creativity and lasting contributions of community artists who pioneered their own avant-garde styles in the 1960s.

Enjoy an afternoon of art, memories, and community as we honor the legacy of the recently departed Risa Hirsch Ehrlich and celebrate the remarkable talents of our living artists whose work remains treasured and influential. Light refreshments will be served.

All proceeds from this event will support programs and services for older adults at the Y, helping to strengthen and enrich the lives of seniors in our community.  No RSVP needed!
