Inwood NYPL Partners with Bacchanalia for Musical Story Hour in the RING Garden
Family Story Hour in the Garden is an outdoor program for children ages 3–6 and their caregivers. Stories are shared with music, clapping, finger puppets, and more and aim to foster early literacy, reading, and language skills in young children.
Participants are encouraged to bring blankets or small chairs. Outdoor events are subject to cancellation due to inclement weather or poor air quality.
At just twelve years old, Neneh is destined to dance and earns a coveted spot at the prestigious Paris Opera Ballet School. Fueled by passion and determination, she must work twice as hard to overcome her challenging circumstances and earn the approval of the school’s director, Marianne Belage. Guarding a secret that connects her to Neneh, Marianne is put in a difficult position and becomes an unwavering protector of the school’s long-held traditions, leading Neneh to question whether she must choose between her dreams and her identity.
Bruce’s Garden invites you to the return of its summer reading program featuring Inwood resident Carla Zanoni, a poet, writer and journalist. Carla’s first poetry chapbook focuses on grief and love and New York City.
The reading will be in English and Spanish with translations for all.
Gather at the Dyckman Farmhouse Museum to network with Northern Slavery Collective (NorSC) members! Make connections, discuss interpretive challenges, and check out the Dyckman Farmhouse over light refreshments. All proceeds from this event will benefit future NorSC programs and events.
NorSC is a group of museums and historic sites rethinking their current narratives to highlight the stories of those enslaved on our sites.
