Inwood Hill Park: 13th Annual Riverkeeper Sweep (Two Locations)

Join Friends of Inwood Hill Park and Riverkeeper for TWO cleanups on Saturday, May 4, for the 13th Annual Riverkeeper Sweep, a day of service for the Hudson River and its tributaries. This is a rain or shine event.

SCHEDULE (2 CLEANUPS at 2 LOCATIONS):
11AM to 1:30PM at Inwood Canoe Club – 360 Dyckman Street
Volunteers will meet at Inwood Canoe Club, 360 Dyckman St, New York, NY 10034. Street parking available, but arrive early as it can be competitve.
2PM to 5PM at Northern Inwood Hill – West 218th St & Indian Rd
Volunteers will meet just inside the park entrance at the corner of Indian Rd and 218th.

We recommend that all Sweep volunteers bring a hat, sunscreen, a full reusable water bottle, insect repellent, work gloves and hand sanitizer.
This site is suitable for elementary-aged children with adult supervision.

Over the last 12 years, Sweep leaders have completed 1,199 service projects, bringing together thousands of volunteers from NYC to the Adirondacks to clean up 355 tons of debris, and plant or maintain 7,130 native plants. This incredible effort is made possible by the generosity of our members, sponsors, and donors. The event is FREE but given limited spaces, advance registration is required.

PS/IS 187: Spring in the Heights!

Saturday, May 4, 2023 | 10AM – 4PM
We have some great performers lined up for Spring in the Heights! In addition to great shopping, games and activities, you’ll get to experience performances by local favorites Washington Heights Chamber Orchestra, Uptown Stories, Jazz WaHi, Moved by Ozuna, Mother Cabrini Band, and our very own PS/IS 187 DJ Diaz and student rock bands led by Mr. Jennings and Mr. T! It all takes place on the main stage throughout the day! See you there!

United Palace: The Producers

Date: Friday, May 3rd | Doors: 6:00pm | Screening: 7:00pm | $5 Tickets 

This 1967 Mel Brooks classic follows a stage-play producer and public accountant who devise a scheme to make money by producing a sure-fire flop on Broadway. Starring Zero Mostel and Gene Wilder. Written and Directed by Mel Brooks. The movie is 1 hour and 28 minutes, rated PG, and will be screened on DCP.

The Producers continues the Movies at the Palace Season of Friendship. We chose that theme after asking ourselves what we need most to get through 2024. Our supporters and fans helped us select the movies in the series, including:

Please note: The Season of Friendship is a different series than Movies at the Palace with Lin-Manuel Miranda, who is not scheduled to be at this screening.
